I was extremely nervous about the root canal procedure having had a prolonged and painful experience in the past with infections. My experience at this clinic was very different. I was made to feel welcome and relaxed, the two ladies (one a nurse and one receptionist) were very kind and reassuring. The whole procedure went well and the dentist talked to me about the procedure before starting. It was worth going ahead to save my tooth. It was an intense experience for that hour and a half but throughout the dentist made sure I was comfortable and properly anaesthised. I was very impressed with the clinic and would definitely recommend it.

I was incredibly nervous at the thought of a root canal filling,having heard many tales of the pain and discomfort of this treatment. I have to say,although obviously not pleasant,the whole experience was 100% better than I thought! Do not worry about attending this clinic,everyone was very calm and professional.

I was referred to the centre by my own dentist and attended last week for root canal treatment. I wasn't sure what to expect, but Cristina and her nurse were both very professional, efficient and kind. It was a long time in the chair (2 hours), but I felt safe and Cristina kept updating me on what was happening. I would recommend.

I visited the centre today for a root canal treatment after being referred by my dentist. The dentist carefully explained the CT scan results and made some suggestions for further treatment by my dentist. The root canal treatment that was carried out at the centre today was painless and the staff were kind and professional throughout. Thank you so much.

I award a five start!! I could not recommend this practice more; from the warmest welcome to the highest tech equipment alongside Dr da Silva expertise, my latest experience left me feeling that I have received the best treatment possible. The surgery is super clean and it has a lovely modern style , the environment was very serene with calm ambience music. I did not feel at any point rushed or confused about what procedure it has to be done . For every step the nurse and Dr Vanderley explained to me in simple terms what was going to happen and gave me options all along the way. I am a very nervous patient and have had a bad experience in the past from a different dental practice , I was recommended to the Specialist Endodontic Centre by a friend and I could have not made a better choice , it made my two hours journey totally worth it. Thank you the Specialist Endodontic Centre and its wonderful team.

Root canal treatment can be very tricky; I was sent to the Endontic Centre by my regular dentist after he attempted the work himself, but he did not have the specialist equipment necessary to carry out this treatment successfully on a calcified tooth.
It took two attempts at the centre to carry out my surgery, and completely remove the site of infection which would have resulted in tooth loss had it not been cleared and plugged.
A follow up scan after the first, temporary treatment, revealed a pathway to the root canal in my tooth, which sits in my gum at a slightly awkward angle.
This is a practice, which like my regular dental practitioner will do everything they can to save a tooth.
I was treated with kindness and courtesy throughout.
A detailed explanation of the procedure was given both times.
I was put at my ease.
Spending an hour with my mouth open was obviously not comfortable but there was no pain and I was informed of progress at key points. Additional x rays were taken during the procedure.
This was a very thorough process carried out by a highly skilled practitioner, Reza - ably assisted by the Dental Nurse Karen. The reception team, it was Sarah today, are also friendly and courteous
My thanks to the team. I recommend this practice without hesitation or reservation.

Best extraction I've had! :-D. I needed a specialist molar extaction from an Oral Surgeon due to curved roots that were embedded in the nerve. I was dreading it but Karin and her assistant were so lovely and very sensitive. Karin performed the procedure very skillfully and after having traumatic procedures in the past this was not bad at all. The practice were also proactive in making sure I had enough medicine and a backup prescription for the coming days which had been a concern as I would be working away. Price was reasonable and money well spent compared to the 14 month NHS wait. Thank you everyone.

If you are feeling nervous about having your dental treatment, be reassured that you could not go to a better place. Sarah gives you a warm and friendly welcome. Don't worry if you've had to travel to the appointment - they give you time to use the lovely clean bathroom on your way to the treatment room! Dani and her assistant, Nikki, worked perfectly as a team. Both were very good at checking that I was OK. Very calm, professional and reassuring atmosphere. They will look after you very well! Thank you to all the team for being so kind.

I was extremely nervous but everyone took great care of me, they were so very reassuring and caring. Everything was very clearly explained and very efficiently carried out. I am delighted that my dentist recommended them. Location and parking were easy to locate.

Absolutely Amazing!

I was ready to dedicate a week of crying my eyes out to mentally prepare for my procedure but the reviews left by past clients left me feeling confident that I was in capable hands.

Sarah was so reassuring over the phone and provided me with all the comfort and information I needed before booking my appointment.

Dani was unbelievably gentle, my proceedure was painless even though my decay was horrendous.

Nikki is the sweetest nurse who could tell how worried I was and was ready to sacrifice her hand and even threw in a stress ball for me.

Thank you everyone for looking after me and making my fear and comfort a priority.

This was my first attendance at the SE Centre following which I have no hesitation in commending the staff there for their courtesy, care, professionalism and consideration.
I was give prompt attention and received my treatment in a thoroughly professional manner that took into account any questions or concerns I may have had whether or not they were peripheral to or centred upon the actual treatment.
The need for dental work normally arises as a matter of necessity and is rarely a pleasure but in so far as it could be, this most certainly was!

After a week of being in pain, I had my re-root canal with this lovely centre, I'm not surprised now anymore about all the positive reviews here.
I had No pain at all during the procedure and even 5 hours later I still have no pain even without a painkiller. Lovely welcoming people, patient dentist and a kind nurse, really up to date tools and equipment! What else should I looking for?

I recently had my 3rd vist to Specialist Endodontic Centre in Southsea, and I would never go anywhere else...

Over the last few years I have needed three root canal procedures and I was originally referred in 2017 to Specialist Endodontic Centre by my dentist. I imagine that most people have concerns when requiring dental work and root canal work is likely to raise the concerns even further.

My first discussion was with Sarah, the Practice Manager — she has a vast knowledge and was very reassuring. My Endodonist is Dani and she is clearly an expert in her field. Her patience and obvious skills are very reassuring and with all three procedures I have never been anything other than extremely impressed and totally relaxed for the duration of the visit. I will never have any apprehensions regarding root canal work in future, and I have Dani to thank for that.

Dani doesn't rush the procedure and she has a very calming, reassuring and caring manner, regularly asking that you are okay and quietly discussing every stage with her Dental Nurse who works closely alongside her at all times. I can honestly say that throughout the whole process I never once felt concerned and was surprised just how relaxed I did feel.

My first treatment with Dani was about 5 years ago and those two teeth are still absolutely fine today. My latest appointment was yesterday (14th September 2022), and in fact I self-referred myself on this occasion by contacting Sarah initially who discussed and liased with Dani for me — and we then arranged my appointment within less than two weeks.

Dani has definitely saved three of my teeth which otherwise would have been extracted, so I am very grateful indeed and have admiration for Dani's expert skills and wonderfully reassuring manner while she is working on my teeth.

I can wholeheartedly recommend Dani and her wonderful team at "Specialist Endodontic Centre". Even though I have to travel a fair distance it's worth every mile to ensure faultess dental work.

Having been referred by my own dentist to SEC for root canal treatment, I arrived at 9am. I was greeted by friendly staff and then met Dani and her assistant. The X-ray machine was the fanciest I'd ever seen! Procedures were clearly explained, then into the chair for the injections and the treatment. I have to say that at no point during the treatment did I feel or experience any pain or discomfort - the very slight momentary 'sting' from the last injection into the roof of the mouth was the only sensation. The procedure took the best part of an hour and throughout I was 'checked I was OK' and was allowed to rest and close my mouth a bit during the various stages. After completion, I was shown the 'before and after' X-rays and the filled canals.
As I type this 24 hours after my visit, I have had no post-treatment pain, have needed no pain-killers and am only vaguely aware that I've had a procedure.
It is so good (and reassuring!) to see and feel an expert at work and this was a very comfortable and professional experience for what has always been portrayed as one of the worst things to go through.

I was very nervous of having root canal treatment but I can honestly say that it was fine. I was incredibly well looked after, there was no pain and everything was very calm and controlled, so I felt reassured and in safe hands throughout. Everyone was very patient, gentle and caring for which I was very grateful!

What a super practise - very efficient, friendly and communicative from start to finish. I was hugely nervous but was treated with the utmost kindness from the minute I entered the practise till the moment I left! All the staff were very keen for me to have a pleasant and pain free experience and that is exactly what I had. Never usually keen to have dental treatment, I’d return willingly and have my whole mouth renovated if I could! A super experience - thank you to all. 😃
