Una qualified from the Royal London School of Medicine and Dentistry in 2000 and was awarded the Constance Klein Memorial Prize in restorative dentistry. She embarked on her surgical training in maxillofacial surgery as a Senior House Officer at several hospitals in the South East of England. Una was involved in the management of head and neck cancer, trauma, cleft lip and palate and medically compromised patients. In 2002, Una gained her membership from the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
Una then returned to general practice in 2004 and subsequently began working part-time in the community dental services where she developed a keen interest in paediatric dentistry. She was able to combine this interest and her enthusiasm for teaching when appointed Paediatric Lead at the University of Portsmouth Dental Academy. She has spent over 10 years teaching undergraduate dentists, dental therapists and hygienists. Una is a speaker for Health Education England Dental Directorate and lectures to dentists in her special interest and is the current Chair for the Wessex branch of the British Society of Paediatric Dentistry.
Una enjoys continuing her professional development and provides evidence based treatments with a minimally invasive approach. In 2018 she pursued further postgraduate training and completed a Masters in Paediatric Dentistry with Distinction from the prestigious Eastman Dental Institute.
Una accepts referrals for the management of dental caries, developmental anomalies and dental trauma in paediatric patients.
