Ammar Al Hourani qualified from Glasgow Dental School in 2009 and gained an interest in Endodontics early on in his career. Having completed several years as a Senior House Officer and General Dental Practitioner in various specialities including Restorative Dentistry, Oral Medicine, Oral & Maxillofiacial Surgery at Glasgow and Dundee Dental Hospital.
His interest led him to embark on a 3-year full time postgraduate DDSc endodontic training programme at Liverpool Dental School in which he achieved his Membership in Endodontics specialism examination by the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh (MEndo RCS Edin). Alongside his training, he completed his Doctorate (DDSc) in Endodontics, his research examined the effect of orthodontic treatment on traumatised teeth and its pulpal implications.
In addition to this, Dr Al Hourani works in several private endodontic referral clinics in London, Hertfordshire and Lincolnshire accepting endodontic cases of varying complexity, trauma management and surgical endodontics. Moreover, Dr Al Hourani is a Royal College examiner for the MEndo RCS Edin specialist exit exams and MFDS examinations.
Ammar lectures nationally and internationally with many distinguished educational institutes and has a real passion for teaching and academia. His passion for education inspired him to create ‘The EndoGuys’ and ‘The EndoRestorative Course’. Both courses are designed to help GDPs regain their passion in endodontics and stay in touch with current evidenced based endodontic philosophies. In his spare time Ammar enjoys going to the gym and Brazilian Jui Juitsu which hes been trying to master for the last 2 years. He has two beautiful kids which he spends time with and enjoys socialising with his family and friends.
