3D Imaging (CBCT)
Cone Beam Computerised Technology (CBCT) is an X-ray based imaging technique that provides fast and accurate visualisation of the inside, and around of your tooth in three dimensions (3D) using low radiation level to the patient.
Our practice uses the state-of-the-art Morita CBCT, a multi-functional unit for 3D and panoramic viewing. The minute details available from these 3D scans are usually not viewable from a standard x-rays and allow for extremely accurate diagnoses. Studies have shown that CBCT is more accurate in diagnosing the infection in the bone surrounding the infected/damaged tooth than conventional x-rays.
The accompanying i-Dixel 2.0 software allows for rotating, magnifying and slicing of images. It also allows for clarity of detail regarding infection, bone structure, anatomical structures and tooth morphology. As every patient is unique, this technology provides an exact picture to help with the treatment planning.
With the addition of cone-beam CT technology to our office, our practice is committed to providing innovative, high-quality, patient care.
Dr Dani Mancuso has been using the CBCT technology since 2008 and provides hands-on courses in CBCT interpretation at our training facility. For more information please please contact us on 023 9275 4333.
Digital Radiography (X-rays)
Dental radiography is paramount when diagnosing and performing the Endodontic treatment. It allow us to see everything we cannot see with our own eyes. It enable us to detect cavities in between teeth, determine bone level, and analyze the health of your bone. We can also examine the roots and nerves of teeth, diagnose lesions such as cysts or tumors, as well as assess damage when trauma occurs.
We utilizes in our practice Shick Digital Imaging Technology which has minimal exposure time when compared to traditional x-rays. It is an invaluable aids in diagnosing, treating and maintaining dental health.
All the x-rays taken are stored in the patients chart allowing easy and fast communication with the patient and referring dentist.
The introduction of the surgical microscope has revolutionized the field of Endodontic Microsurgery. We have invested in the very best quality surgical microscopes, that provide unparalleled magnification and illumination for our surgical procedures. Our success depends on us being able to see the minutest of details - you cannot treat what you cannot see. In addition, we have incorporated the latest high definition video allowing us to record our procedures with unequaled clarity and detail.
